Mayor Benjamin to host Move with the Mayor walk on April 11

April 4, 2018

Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin will continue his Move with the Mayor program with a walk at 12:30 p.m. on April 11 in downtown Columbia.

“Since launching our #ColumbiaWeighsIn challenge on March 1, we’ve not only endeavored to lose weight collectively as a city but to also continue in our efforts to be a healthier, happier community,” said Mayor Benjamin. “Our Move with the Mayor walk today will provide us with an opportunity to exercise as well as take us by the Richland Library to pick up fresh, local produce.”

The Move with the Mayor route will start at City Hall (1737 Main Street) and loop back to City Hall after stopping at Richland Library (1431 Assembly Street) for approximately 2 miles. Walkers will have the opportunity to take part in Richland Library’s weekly farmers’ market and purchase produce.

James Patrick, fitness guru, will lead the walk and exercises along the route.

The full route is outlined in the map below.
