Leadership Columbia Class of 2018 announces class project

Leadership Columbia partners with MIRCI
As part of the Leadership Columbia program, each class choses a project that makes an impact in the community. This year, after receiving RFPs from 14 non-profit organizations in the greater Midlands area, the LC Class of 2018 has chosen a project that benefits Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc. (MIRCI). MIRCI’s project is Project HEAT, which is the construction of a house in downtown Columbia which will serve up to 10 young men in need of transitional living. The LC Class will assist in the furnishing and landscaping of the home, marketing the project, and recruiting volunteers.
The house is currently under construction and is in need of furniture, appliances, and essentials to make Project HEAT a true home for future young men. To help furnish the home, the 2018 LC Class is hosting house warming parties to collect donations for the MIRCI home.
