TransformSC Conference Assembles International Data Experts, South Carolina Education Veterans to Transform SC Classrooms through Data

 

On March 1 & 2, 2018, business and education leaders from around South Carolina will gather for the annual conference hosted by TransformSC, an education initiative of the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness. The conference will welcome hundreds of business leaders, education professionals, and policymakers.

The event will take place at the following locations and times:

Thursday, March 1:      3:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the University of South Carolina Alumni Building

Friday, March 2:           8:00 a.m. – Noon at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center

The conference will feature keynote presentations from international data experts and authors, Dr. John Johnson and Dr. Ellen Mandinach, respectively. Breakout sessions will be led by business and education experts who will emphasize the importance of understanding and applying data techniques to impact and improve South Carolina schools and classrooms.

In addition to keynote speakers Dr. Johnson and Dr. Mandinach, other presenters include representatives from school districts around North and South Carolina, local business leaders, and representatives of the SC Department of Education.

Thursday’s afternoon event will feature the first keynote presentation by Dr. John Johnson, followed immediately by a legislative reception sponsored by Boeing. Day two of the event begins Friday morning with a second keynote presentation by Ellen Mandinach, followed by eight unique breakout sessions.  All event speakers and presenters will be available for interview by request.
