Luther Battiste, elected president of the American Board of Trial Advocates for 2020

In January, Columbia attorney Luther J. Battiste III, a founding shareholder of Johnson, Toal & Battiste, was elected national vice president of the American Board of Trial Advocates for 2018. He will become president of the organization in 2020.

ABOTA is an invitation-only national association of about 7,600 attorneys dedicated to the ideals embodied in the 7th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It fosters improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of trial advocacy.

Luther also served on Columbia city council for fifteen years.
