Requiem for Mother Emanuel by SC Artist Leo Twiggs- Nine paintings honor the nine men and women who perished in Mother Emanuel church shooting

WHO: South Carolina State Museum

WHAT: Requiem for Mother Emanuel is a visually moving and through provoking exhibition, produced by South Carolina artist Leo Twiggs. These nine paintings accompanied created in the aftermath of the murders at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, are perhaps the most compelling and poignant of his 60 year career.

The exhibit will be accompanied by several items left by visitors in front of the church and a seven minute video, by Sailwind Pictures featuring Dr. Twiggs, and is an exploration of the context and inspiration of his work.
