Wilson selected to serve on Advisory Board

City Manager Teresa Wilson has been selected to serve on the Carolina Cluster Public-Sector Executive Advisory Board. The Carolina Cluster is comprised of three historically black colleges and universities: Claflin University, Benedict College and Voorhees College.
The Advisory Board is comprised of 20 members who are leaders in local government and state agencies.
Information gleaned from these work sessions will be used to direct future curricular decisions, with the goal of improving the professional readiness of students from each of the representative colleges.
Wilson says, “I am extremely honored to be selected to participate on this board. The work of this board can directly impact six of the focus areas in our Envision Columbia Vision Statement as we strategically plan for the future state of the City of Columbia.”
Claflin University, Benedict College, and Voorhees College have formed the Carolina Cluster, with the overarching goal of developing and enhancing student preparation for success in the workplace. The collaborative effort to develop and enhance student preparation for success in the workplace as a result of matriculation at each of the colleges and universities represented is made possible by a five-year $6 million grant from the United Negro College Fund Career Pathways Initiative funded by the Lilly Endowment, Incorporated.
