Midlands Housing Trust Fund hires Demetrius McCord, JD, as Executive Director

The Midlands Housing Trust Fund (MHTF) announces Demetrius McCord has been hired as its Executive Director.  Demetrius has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Scranton and a Juris Doctor from the Albany Law School of Union University.

Demetrius brings a wealth of executive and administrative experience to MHTF as former Interim Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director of the Harm Reduction Coalition in New York, NY and as Deputy Executive Director and Director of Development of the Bronx Community Pride Center, in the Bronx, NY.  Demetrius was also the Chair of the Environment and Sanitation Committee for his local community board.

At the Midlands Housing Trust Fund, Demetrius will lead and direct all operations, including developing partnerships with other Midlands housing initiatives, enhancing relationships with local banks, housing developers, and elected officials, raising funds and advocating for expanded affordable housing throughout the Midlands.

The Midlands Housing Trust Fund 

The Midlands Housing Trust Fund (MHTF) is a South Carolina, regional, not for profit organization, created in 2011, which provides financing, technical assistance, and advocacy for the creation, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable housing in eight counties in the Midlands.  MHTF is certified by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the South Carolina Department of Commerce as a Certified Community Development Institution (CDFI).  MHTF provides financing to qualified developers, for the acquisition, preservation, construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing.  MHTF can finance hard to fund activities such as pre-development costs, land banking, special needs housing or project based rental support for multifamily units.
