New website touts South Carolina as ideal home for IT Professionals

IT-oLogy, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, announced the launch of SCTechLife.com. The website is designed to show young IT professionals that South Carolina is the ideal location to pursue their technology careers. The message, “You can work anywhere. You can LIVE here.” is aimed at technology professionals who are attracted to a work, live and play lifestyle.
The site features links to career opportunities offered by leading technology companies throughout the state, as well as educational and lifestyle information and resources. Videos, focusing on lifestyle, are also a component of the campaign to recruit and retain talent.
“The goal of the project is to both keep in-state talent here, and attract out-of-state talent to South Carolina,” says IT-oLogy president, Tammy Mainwaring.
As published in a 2017 CompTIA report, there are more than 62,000 tech sector employees in South Carolina with an average wage of $76,000 per year. In Q4 2017 the number of open IT jobs was more than 6,000.
“IT-oLogy is focused on helping South Carolina build a strong, growing IT workforce. We hope these will play a role in ensuring this result.”
