Mayor Steve MacDougall elected to MASC leadership positions

August 8, 2017

Mayor Steve MacDougall was named to the Municipal Association of South Carolina’s (MASC) Board of Directors, representing the Central Midlands Council of Governments Region, where he currently serves as the Vice Chair for CMCOG.

He was also named Vice President of the affiliate organization, Association of South Carolina Mayors; both taking place during the annual MASC conference in July.

Formed in 1930, the Municipal Association of South Carolina represents and serves the state’s 270 incorporated municipalities. The Association is dedicated to the principle of its founding members: to offer the services, programs and tools that will give municipal officials the knowledge, experience and tools for enabling the most efficient and effective operation of their municipalities in the complex world of municipal government.

The Association of SC Mayors was formed in 2011 under the umbrella of the Municipal Association of South Carolina to provide opportunities for South Carolina mayors to more fully engage in advocating for issues that affect cities and towns; to network, share ideas and best practices with other mayors; and to take part in educational activities. There are 108 members of the Association of SC Mayors.
