New Corps Officers coming to lead The Salvation Army of the Midlands

The Salvation Army of the Midlands is preparing to welcome new Corps Officers on June 19, 2017.
Majors Henry and Benita Morris will arrive in Columbia, after working in the Alabama-Louisiana-Mississippi division since 2010. Since being installed as officers in the Salvation Army in 2001, the Morrises have concentrated their work on youth development. Their appointments include work at the Atlanta Peachcrest Corps and a stint in the Maryland/West Virginia division.
The couple will replace Majors Roger and Melody Coulson, who have served as the Corps Officers/Regional Coordinators of The Salvation Army of the Midlands for the last 6.5 years. The Coulsons will relocate to Charlotte, NC to work at The Salvation Army divisional headquarters as their next assignment.
The Morrises will lead all ministries in the Columbia corps, which will be a new challenge for the couple. “We’re looking forward to branching out in our ministry responsibilities,” Major Henry Morris said of overseeing a staff of 20 full-time employees and scores of volunteers. “We are looking forward to making Columbia our home and look forward to building relationships at the Corps and in the community.”
Majors Henry & Benita Morris have been happily married for 24 years. They have three sons (Andrew (22), MyleeQ (18) and MyQyle (14), and one daughter Sierra (25).
