China Hengshi Foundation Company launching Richland County operations

Fiberglass manufacturer investing $11.1 million and creating 48 jobs

China Hengshi Foundation Company, a fiberglass fabric provider, is locating new operations in Richland County. The company’s new facility is expected to bring $11.1 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 48 jobs.
Founded in 2000, China Hengshi specializes in the research, development, production and marketing of a variety of fiber-weaving products for export around the world. Primarily used in wind turbine blades, the company’s products are also utilized in space flight, aviation, construction, transportation, environmental protection and more.
Located at 1440 Atlas Road in Columbia, S.C., the company intends to have its 111,000-square-foot manufacturing facility operational by the fourth quarter of 2017. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
