Telamon SC sponsors Stand Down for homeless veterans

Telamon Corporation’s Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program is sponsoring a Stand Down event for homeless veterans on Friday May 19, 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  The event will be held at the Cecil Tillis Center located at 2111 Simpkins Lane, Columbia, SC 29204 and the parking lot of Second Nazareth Baptist Church (located across the street from the Tillis Center).  Agencies such as the Veteran’s Administration, SC Legal Services, Palmetto Health, SC HIV/Aids, DEHEC, Operation Veteran Support, SC Works, United Way, South Carolina Combat Veterans Group and others will be on hand to assist homeless veterans and their families with needed services such as health screenings, veteran’s benefits, employment services, Hepatitis C testing, legal advice, health kits, clothing, housing referrals and other support services.  Lunch will be served at 12 Noon.

Funded by the Department of Labor (DOL), Telamon Corporation’s Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) assists homeless and at-risk of homelessness veterans make the transition to employment, more security, and a more secure housing situation by providing employment, training, and referrals to housing and other support services in Richland, Lexington, Calhoun, Kershaw, Fairfield, Greenville, and Spartanburg counties.
