A Conversation with Ann Warner, CEO, Executive Director, Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network (WREN)

The Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network (WREN) is a South Carolina nonprofit, non-partisan network that is building a movement to advance the health, economic well-being, and rights of South Carolina’s women, girls, and their families. WREN provides a strong, collective voice for South Carolina’s women and girls.

Recently, WREN partnered with the Darla Moore School of Business to publish a study entitled South Carolina Labor Shortage: The Economic Impact of Increasing Women’s Participation in the Workforce.  In the next decade, South Carolina will need as many as 26,140 additional workers per year. If women help fill those positions, increasing their overall presence in our state’s workforce from 48.3 percent currently to 54.0 percent by 2025, it could generate unprecedented opportunities for our state.
