Ameris Bank’s Mze Wilkins honored with Midlands Technical College Foundation’s Distinguished Volunteer Award

COLUMBIA, SC – Ameris Bank Columbia Market President Mze Wilkins was recently recognized by the Midlands Technical College Foundation with its 2016 Distinguished Volunteer Award. The Distinguished Volunteer Award is presented to an individual who has given time, talent, and resources to Midlands Technical College. Wilkins served on the MTC Foundation Board of Trustees for ten years, most recently as its board chair. She was recognized at the Midlands Technical College Celebration of Partnerships reception earlier this month, which honored graduates and friends of Midlands Technical College who have made significant impacts on the college and community.
Midlands Technical College President Dr. Ronald Rhames stated, “We are delighted to honor Mze as our 2016 Distinguished Volunteer Award.” He continued, “She is extremely giving of her time, talent and resources and her service has a great impact, not only in the college community, but on the Midlands as a whole.”
Wilkins is a community leader serving on numerous civic and non-profit boards. Her current involvement includes Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina, Certified Development Corporation, Carolina Children’s Home, Columbia Development Corporation, CREW Midlands, Columbia Rotary Club and Lake Murray Presbyterian Church.

Wilkins, a native of Darlington South Carolina, has over 25 years of extensive banking experience, including expertise in commercial and retail banking. She joined Ameris Bank in 2007 and takes pride in providing financial solutions to meet the unique needs of businesses, investors and individuals. Wilkins and her husband, Dick, live in Chapin and have two daughters.
