S.C. Bankruptcy group honors Nelson Mullins’ George Cauthen

The S.C. Bankruptcy Law Association has honored George B. Cauthen, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Columbia office, with the  J. Bratton Davis Professionalism Award. The award is named in honor of J. Bratton Davis, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina’s first bankruptcy judge. Recipients demonstrate unimpeachable integrity, devotion to legal scholarship, civility to all, unfailing professionalism in all ways, and impressive contributions and improvements to the legal profession, according to the organization.

Mr. Cauthen heads the Banking, Bankruptcy, and Creditors Rights Team at Nelson Mullins. He is a Certified Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the Supreme Court of South Carolina. Additionally, he is a Certified Specialist in Consumer and Business Bankruptcy Law awarded by the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification. He has held numerous leadership positions in professional and community organizations, has been honored for his service to his state, and has been recognized by his peers in state and national rankings for his legal practice.
