LTC students win state FBLA awards

Lexington County School District One congratulates students from Lexington Technology Center who won a total of 11 awards at the state competition conducted as part of the 2016 South Carolina Future Business Leaders of America Leadership Conference, held March 11–13 in North Charleston.

Future Business Leaders of America provides high school students with opportunities to develop competent, assertive leadership, strengthen their self-confidence, enhance their understanding of American business enterprise and practice money management. The organization helps students establish occupational goals and facilitates their transition from school to work.

Eight students from LTC won first-place awards: Gabe Dieterly, cyber security; Brooke Feder and Alex Sprang, business financial plan; Ryan King and Audra Knight, marketing; Krissy Salvagin, Accounting II; and Mason Smith and Anthony Willis, computer game simulation and programming.

Griffin McMillan from LTC placed second in spreadsheets.

Two students from LTC earned fourth-place status: Jason Brantley, spreadsheets; and Jordan Dozier, sales presentation.

The students from LTC who won awards at the state competition will participate in the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference, which will be held June 29–July 2 in Atlanta, Georgia.
