New South Carolina State Government Documents for June 2015

July 22, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina Digital State Documents Depository provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions. These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state. The latest issue of New South Carolina State Documents provides a description, author, and link to the full-text for each new agency document published in June.

This month, we have many new publications about public health and the environment from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.  There are several handouts about common vaccines, including the Rotavirus vaccine, Hib Vaccine, HPV vaccine, and the Pneumococcal Polysaccharide vaccine.  Each handout provides information about why you should get vaccinated, what the vaccine treats, what dosing is recommended, who should not get the vaccine, risks of a reaction, what to do in case of a serious reaction, information about the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, and how you can learn more.

The Library serves the people of South Carolina by supporting state government and libraries to provide opportunities for learning in a changing environment. It is the primary administrator of federal and state support for the state’s libraries. In 1969, as the result of action by the General Assembly, the State Library Board was redesignated as the South Carolina State Library and assumed responsibility for public library development, library service for state institutions, service for the blind and physically handicapped, and library service to state government agencies. Headquartered in Columbia, S.C., the Library is funded by the state of South Carolina, by the federal government through the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and other sources.  For more information, please visitwww.statelibrary.sc.gov or call 803-734-8666.
