Mary Helen Settle of SCS Named Chair of Upstate Regional Advisory Council of the SC Chapter of the Community Association Institute

COLUMBIA, SC – Mary Helen Settle of Southern Community Services (SCS), the Carolinas’ leading homeowner association management firm, was named chair of the Upstate Regional Advisory Council of the South Carolina Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Settle is an accredited Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) as well as an Association Management Specialist (AMS) through CAI.

As the consulting division manager for SCS, Settle is responsible for internal operations, communications and marketing for the company. Founded in 2000, SCS provides business, governance, and association management services to over 160 communities, including Lake Carolina in Columbia, S.C., Park West in Charleston, S.C. and Reynolds Mountain in Asheville, N.C.

Settle has sat on CAI’s Upstate Regional Advisory Council since November 2013 and served as the council secretary in 2014. As chair, Settle will be responsible for meeting announcements, agenda items, membership and sponsorship.

“There will be more energy and support for the regional councils this year,” notes Settle. “We expect to build an educational and social event calendar for the next year, and increase membership in the chapter from the Upstate area.”
