Richland Two Announces Westwood High School Principal

COLUMBIA, SC – At the Tuesday, June 9 board meeting, Superintendent Debbie Hamm recommended and the Richland School District Two Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Dr. Cheryl Guy to principal of Westwood High School effective July 1, 2015.
Guy currently serves as assistant principal at Westwood High School, a position she has held since the school opened in 2012. She has 31 years of experience in education and has worked in Richland Two for 20 years.
“I believe in the students and the staff at Westwood High School and I look forward to serving as principal,” said Dr. Guy.
Guy holds a Bachelor of Arts in education; Master of Education degrees in secondary education and educational leadership; Education Specialist degree in educational leadership; and Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership, all from the University of South Carolina.
“We are truly happy to have Dr. Guy transitioning into the new role,” said Superintendent Debbie Hamm. “She understands the culture, strengths and needs of Westwood, and we know, under her leadership, the school will expand on the success they have enjoyed during the past three years.”
