Richland One to Hold Meetings Community Meeting on Proposed Upgrades to Athletic Facilities

COLUMBIA, SC – Richland One will present proposed plans to modernize the district’s aging athletics facilities during a series of upcoming community meetings.

The plans call for upgrades to the district’s three existing stadiums (Bolden, Memorial and Lower Richland); construction of a new stadium on the W.J. Keenan High School campus; and improvements to the existing fields at A.C. Flora, Columbia, Eau Claire and Dreher high schools.

The facility study that was conducted by a consulting firm hired by the district, which outlines the site-by-site recommendations for the district’s athletics facilities, is posted at www.richlandone.org. The estimated cost of the projects is $39.9 million.

Students, staff, parents and community members will have an opportunity to ask questions during the upcoming meetings. The meetings, which are open to anyone who would like to attend, will be held as follows:
