Richland Two to Swear in New Board Members Tuesday

COLUMBIA, SC – Richland School District Two will hold an installation ceremony to swear in members of the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, November 11 at 4:30 p.m.  The ceremony will be held at Polo Road Elementary School, 1250 Polo Road, 29223.  New members Dr. Cheryl Caution-Parker, Amelia B. McKie and Craig Plank, and incumbent James Manning were the top vote-getters in the election on November 4 and will take the oath of office.  Twelve candidates ran for the four available seats.

The Richland Two Board of Trustees is composed of seven members, who serve four-year terms in at-large seats.  The board is responsible for a general fund operating budget of $234 million, roughly 3,500 employees, more than 27,000 students (including pre-kindergarten) and 41 schools and centers.

The board will hold its regularly scheduled meeting following the ceremony.  Executive session begins at 5:30 p.m. with public session following at 7 p.m.
