Past President of 9th largest Pest Management Company in the Nation, Tom Fortson, honored with industry’s highest honor
COLUMBIA, SC – Tom Fortson, longtime president of Terminix Service, Inc.(TSI), and current Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, was awarded the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) Pinnacle Award. He was presented with this award at the industry’s national convention in Orlando, Florida earlier this month.
NPMA’s Pinnacle Award is the industry’s highest honor and it is presented in recognition of individuals for their outstanding contributions to the success of the association and to the pest management industry as a whole over their entire career.
Fortson, a graduate of University of South Carolina, joined TSI in 1963 and during the past 51 years he has held virtually every position possible in the company including president for over 25 years. Columbia based TSI operates 53 branches of Terminix in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia and is the 9th largest Pest Management company in the Nation.
Fortson has served on the South Carolina Pesticide Advisory Committee, the South Carolina Regulatory Review Committee, and as Chairman of Clemson University Advisory Board for Agriculture and Public Service. He has served as president for both the South Carolina Pest Control Association and the North Carolina Pest Management Association, served on the Board of Directors of the National Pest Management Association and currently serves as the chairman of the Professional Pest Management Alliance.
He is currently Vice President of the South Carolina Philharmonic, has served on the Board of River Banks Zoo Society, and as Senior Warden and Building Committee Chairman at St. David’s Episcopal Church.
