Summer Concert Series Heats Up Finlay Park Starting in June

COLUMBIA, SC – Beginning Saturday, June 7, 2014, the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department will be bringing the sounds of summer to Finlay Park, located at 930 Laurel St.

The Summer Concert Series will be held every Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. on the following dates:

·         June 7- Sweetwater Junction

·         June 14- Orquesta Mayor

·         June 21- Second Nature

·         June 28- The Reggie Sullivan Band

·         July 5- The Episodes

·         July 12- Terence Young and Soul Centric

·         July 19- Daniel D and Urban Instrumentalists

·         July 26- Mystic Vibrations

·         August 2- Daniel Lewis

·         August 9- Coconut Groove Band

·         August 16- Horizons

Starting on Saturday, June 14, Karaoke Idol will be at 6 p.m. There will be weekly winners for a cash prize and the finals will be held on Saturday, August 16.

Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers. All concerts are free and open to the public.
