Modesto Irrigation District Selects AAC to Lead Technology Evaluation & Selection Process for a New Customer Information System

May 5, 2014

PastedGraphic-3 copyCOLUMBIA, SC – May 5, 2014 – Modesto Irrigation District (MID), located in California’s Central Valley, has selected AAC Utility Partners (AAC) to lead the District through the comprehensive selection process of evaluating and identifying a new customer information system (CIS) and related systems integration services.  The new CIS will replace the district’s 10-year-old system. MID is a vertically integrated publicly owned utility providing electric service to more than 115,000 customers in the City of Modesto and surrounding areas.

Roger VanHoy, general manager of MID said, “Our ultimate goal is to select a system that enhances our customer service.  A few years ago, the District installed an advanced metering infrastructure.  The new CIS will allow us to achieve the full potential of this initial investment by enabling better two-way communication between MID and our customers.  The District decided to partner with AAC because they are a proven partner in the industry.  We like their project management style, methodology and expertise in the utility industry.”

The benefits of a new CIS will include:

  • More self-service options for customers
  • Faster and more efficient call-handling time
  • Real-time display for customer transactions
  • Acceptance of all payment formats
  • Optimized billing capabilities

“We are pleased to partner with MID on this mission critical project,” said Edwin Crow, managing partner of AAC.  “MID is focused on delivering customer-focused technology in a very high quality and cost effective environment.  MID is a perfect partner with AAC’s rigorous project methodology.”
