Jamie Scott Fitness adds innovative programs to include Urban Hiking, Senior Fitness and Exertion Monitoring Technology

COLUMBIA SC – October 1, 2013 – At JSF we strive to offer the most cutting-edge, effective approach to wellness of any fitness facility found in South Carolina. Now, I am excited to introduce three new progressive initiatives to the great city of Columbia, said owner Jamie Scott. The new initiatives include: Urban Hiking classes; a new fitness program for the senior population; and Trainer Plus – an advanced heart-rate based training technology that allows clients and trainers to monitor exertion and efficiency during workouts.
Urban Hiking: JSF is teaming with Outdoor Adventure and Fitness expert Matt Riley on creating challenging Urban Hikes through the streets of Columbia. Invading cities across the country, Urban Hiking is a great way to see the city while engaging in a tough hike. Urban Hikes will take place Saturday Oct. 12 and Saturday Oct. 26. BE WELL Program: I take pride investing in our seniors who are contributing members of our society, said Jamie Scott. JSF is launching its Be Well program tailored toward the mature population later this fall. With a strong focus on functional training, the BE WELL Program enhances daily movement patterns and provides a higher quality of life—regardless of age. Education is a cornerstone of the BE WELL program and, in addition to regular exercise, discussion will focus on nutrition, how to properly exercise along with instruction on how and why to improve flexibility, etc. Orientation for this program will be held Thursday, October 24th and Thursday, October 31st at 11:15am at Jamie Scott Fitness. Trainer Plus: Coming this Winter, JSF will utilize cutting-edge heart rate technology to bring the highest level of personal/group training. Displaying the clients’ heart rates in real time allows trainers to monitor the level of efficiency and exertion ensuring accurate results based training.
