Sara Ballard Named Velocity Distance Project Marketing Manager
August 25, 2012COLUMBIA, SC – August 25, 2012 – Dr. Dave Hale owner and Director of Sports Performance and Research at Velocity Distance Project (VDP) recently announced that Sara Ballard of Blythewood has been contracted to handle the marketing efforts at VDP. Sara will get us moving in the right direction with Facebook, Twitter and other social media portals, make contacts with the local media outlets, along with boost the awareness of our running & triathlon store products, USATF Jr. Olympic Developmental Running Program, custom running programs, private coaching, performance testing services, and our road races and other events, said Hale.
Ballard brings many years of marketing expertise with her to VDP, not to mention being a local resident and having contacts with all of the local media outlets and running race directors. As one of Velocity Distance Project’s marketing efforts, they will be providing award and product sponsorship to local races.

Hale is also looking for donors and companies interested in becoming a sponsor of the Youth Running Program. All contribtions will be 100% used for equipment and training of the youth (ages 10-18) athletes and not towards administrative costs. The programs are aimed at raising the participation level of Columbia-area youth in sports as a means of bettering their quality of life and to decrease the level of childhood obesity.
