Creative Smiles Provides Teeth Restoration Using CEREC Technology

COLUMBIA, SC – November 4, 2009 – Instead of making multiple dental appointments to go through the teeth restoration process, Creative Smiles patients can now experience a single-visit restoration with no need for temporary teeth. The Columbia, SC, dental office utilizes the latest technology of Ceramic Reconstruction (CEREC) to simplify teeth restoration for patients.
CEREC uses computer-assisted design and manufacturing to design and shape the teeth in need of restoration in-house. In the past, dentists had to send teeth impressions away to a laboratory and then wait for the results. This new technology means Creative Smiles patients in need of teeth restoration can receive the care they need immediately.
The CEREC teeth restoration process involves a special camera used to capture an optical impression of the tooth. The computer then creates the restoration from a block of ceramic material, and the dentist bonds the ceramic restoration to the tooth.

Dr. Paul A. Feuerstein opened his dental office in Columbia in 1973. He attended Harpur College in Binghamton NY and received his D.D.S. degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1968. Dr. Kyle M. Garlitz grew up in Hickory NC. After Dr. Garlitz graduated from Hickory High School, he graduated in 1992, from Notre Dame with a BS in Pre- Professional Studies. He attended dental school in North Carolina at UNC -Chapel Hill and graduated in 1996.
