Cullum graduates from Class II of Midlands Diversity Leaders Initiative

COLUMBIA, SC – June 17, 2009 – Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims, P.A., is pleased to announce that Rita Bragg Cullum has graduated as a member of Class II of the Midlands Diversity Leaders Initiative of the Riley Institute at Furman University.
Chosen by nomination and application, participants in the Diversity Leaders Initiative come from all demographic groups and sectors, including corporate, non-profit, faith-based, education and government, to build leadership skills while also examining and pursuing solutions to challenges and opportunities most pressing to South Carolina communities.

Cullum is a member of Ellis Lawhorne’s Trusts and Estates Practice Group. She is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law as well as a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Cullum works with her clients and their financial advisors in developing and implementing estate plans that
address the individual needs of clients and their family and business interests. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina (USC) and her Juris Doctor from the USC School of Law. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Richland County Bar Association, the Columbia Estate Planning Council, and was selected to the 2008 Best Lawyers in America. Additionally, Cullum is a Founder of Women in Philanthropy, Chair of the University of South Carolina Guardian Society, serves on the University of South Carolina Alumni Association Board of Governors, and is a member of the Junior League of Columbia among other organizations.
