Richardson Plowden’s Gifford selected to Surety Claims Institute
February 6, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – February 5, 2009 – Emily R. Gifford of Richardson, Plowden & Robinson, P.A., has been selected for membership in the Surety Claims Institute.
The Surety Claims Institute is a national organization of claims professionals and attorneys who deal in fidelity and surety bond matters. Membership is by invitation only and is restricted to those attorneys with a significant practice in fidelity and surety bond claims. The organization’s purpose is to enhance the level of professionalism in the surety industry through seminars and interaction among practitioners. It provides a consistent year-round flow of current information in an ever-changing field.
Gifford earned her bachelor’s degree in English, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina (USC) Honors College. She went on to earn her master’s in Health Administration from the USC School of Public Health, and her juris doctor from the USC School of Law. Gifford joined Richardson Plowden in 2005 and focuses her practice on construction law, surety law and commercial litigation. She is member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the American Bar Association TIPS TortSource Editorial Board and is involved with the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar.
