Community Worship Service to Address Worrisome Economy
October 7, 2008COLUMBIA, SC – October 7, 2008 – Incarnation Lutheran Church invites all to come together for a time of prayer and reflection in these worrisome financial times. The church at 3005 Devine Street will be addressing these worries and more at a series of lunch hour worship services on Wednesdays in October. The worship service starts at 12:15.
Through scripture and a short message, Senior Pastor Mary Anderson will bring God’s word to the current political, economic and social situation in the United States today. Pastor and Cantor Jim Parham will begin the service with a meditative and uplifting musical reflection at noon.
Attendees can come at any time during this musical period and are encouraged to pray, meditate or simply enjoy the music. Prayers for ourselves and our world will conclude the service.
In the spirit of loving our neighbors and remembering those affected by the current financial crisis, monetary donations will be accepted for Harvest Hope Food Bank, although no offering is required. The service concludes by 12:30, at which time a lunch is offered for $3.
