AAF of The Midlands Announces Two Scholarship Recipients

COLUMBIA, SC  – June 18, 2008 – The American Advertising Federation of The Midlands (AAF of The Midlands) is proud to announce the recipients of their annual scholarships. Sammy Rutowski is the winner of The Clyde Ellisor scholarship; Megan Moeller is the winner of the Albert Scroggins scholarship.

The Clyde Ellisor scholarship, named after and in honor of a former president of AAF of The Midlands, is awarded annually to a South Carolina resident who is a rising senior, majoring in the Advertising and Public Relations sequence at the USC School of Mass Communications and Information Studies. This year’s recipient, Sammy Rutkowski, who is an officer for the USC Student Advertising Federation, has been named to the Dean’s List every semester of her college career.

The Albert Scroggins scholarship, named after a former dean of the USC College of Journalism, is awarded annually to a rising junior or senior majoring in the Advertising and Public Relations sequence at the USC School of Mass Communications and Information Studies. This year’s recipient, Megan Moeller, is an officer for the USC Student Advertising Federation and has maintained a high overall grade point average through her college career.

“One of the core functions of the American Advertising Federation is to connect with advertising students in our local areas,” said Alanna Ritchie, past president of AAF of The Midlands. These students were selected because of their strong academic and service history. We are proud to support and recognize two such deserving future leaders of our industry.”
