SC AIGA Presents Stefan Sagmeister

COLUMBIA, SC – April 17, 2008 – The South Carolina Chapter of American Institute of Graphic Arts is proud to present Stefan Sagmeister, one of the most influential graphic designers working today. He will be speaking in conjunction with the recent release of his newest book, Things I Have Learned in my Life So Far, on Tuesday, April 22 at the South Carolina State Museum at 6:30, with a networking social at 5:30 before his presentation.
Paola Antonelli, senior curator of architecture and design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, once described Sagmeister’s work by saying, “Stefan is a razor-blade wielding, gracefully brutal, always surprising master of communication – the Johnny Depp of the design world”
Sagmeister, who was born in Austria and now lives in New York City, has done work for all things printed, including posters, brochures and books. He’s also worked on graphics and packaging for music clients. Sagmeister’s award-winning work has been recognized in national publications such as The New York Times, Time, Rolling Stone, and Wired. He’s also created iconic album covers for Lou Reed, the Talking Heads, and the Rolling Stones.
