Bridge on Shady Lane in Richland County To be Replaced

COLUMBIA, SC – March 28, 2008 – The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) plans to replace the bridge over Wildcat Creek on Shady Lane in Richland County.
The bridge replacement is necessary due to the bridge being structurally deficient. Construction will begin April 7 and last approximately 25 weeks. The new bridge should be open by Oct. 1, 2008, pending delays due to weather conditions or other factors.
The road will remain open during construction of the bridge, which is being built adjacent to the existing bridge. Temporary flagging of traffic may be necessary during the course of the project.
