Colonial Names Employees to New Leadership Positions

COLUMBIA, SC – December 13, 2007 – Rich Williams has been named vice president of strategic growth initiatives, responsible for analyzing growth opportunities for Colonial, making recommendations to senior leadership and driving implementation of selected opportunities.

Williams returns to Colonial after two years with one of Aetna’s subsidiaries, Strategic Resource Company, where he served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He first joined Colonial in 1999 leading into his most recent responsibility as assistant vice president and actuary. 

Prior to his Colonial experience, he worked for Mercer in the retirement consulting actuarial practice. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College, a master’s from Wake Forest University and a doctorate from the University of South Carolina. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
