Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals Acquires Petersen & Plante Internal Medicine
November 25, 2007COLUMBIA, SC – November 21, 2007 – Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals recently acquired Peterson & Plante Internal Medicine Associates.
Peterson & Plante was established in 1993 by Dr. Alan C. Peterson, Jr., and Dr. Paul A. J. Plante. In the last 14 years, this practice has grown from two founding partners to seven physicians that include: Alan C. Peterson, Jr., Paul A. J. Plante, Joseph M. Cavanaugh, Jr., Jeffery C. Ford, Nehal T. Desai, Jaiprakash Patel, and G. Stuart Hooks.
This practice has two locations: 1750 Laurel Street in downtown Columbia and 21 Gateway Corners Park in northeast Columbia. The practice is accepting new patients.
With this acquisition, Providence now operates six physician practices: Providence Women’s Health, Providence Northeast Family Care, Providence Northeast Family Care at Lake Carolina, Providence Internal Medicine, and Providence Spine Center. These practices, along with Peterson & Plante Internal Medicine Associates are located throughout the downtown and northeast areas of Columbia. These practices are managed and operated by Augustine Health Group, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals.
