Holiday Travel Reminders
November 19, 2007COLUMBIA, SC – November 19, 2007 – With the busy holiday season upon us, below are travel tips to make your travel plans easier:
Check Flight Status
See real-time flight information at www.columbiaairport.com. Click on Information and then click on Flights. You can check flight status on the Flight View Map or the Real-Time Flight Info which replicates the flight status boards in the airport. You can also call your airline’s toll-free number or check out individual airline websites as listed at columbiaairport.com.
Remember 3-1-1 for Carry-On Items
Liquids and gels must be in 3 ounce bottles or less; placed in 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 quart-sized bag per passenger. If in doubt, please place your liquids in checked luggage. Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities over 3 ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Please declare these items for inspection at the Security Checkpoint.
Bring Photo ID
You must have your boarding pass and a photo ID to gain access through the Security Checkpoint to your departure gate.
Limit Carry-Ons
Carry-ons are limited to one bag plus one personal item such as a laptop, purse, backpack, briefcase, camera case. Place valuables and prescriptions in your carry-on bag.
Leave gifts unwrapped
They may need to be opened for security inspection.
Film
Place all undeveloped film and cameras with film in your carry-on bag. The screening equipment for checked baggage may damage undeveloped film.
