SC Governor's School for Science and Mathematics Announces New Board Officers and Members
July 20, 2007The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of the following new board officers for the 2007-08 term: President Michael Fanning, Greenville, Michelin North America, Inc.; Vice President J. Howard Daniel, Greenville, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart; Secretary Caleb Fort, Spartanburg, The Merit Group, Inc., and Treasurer Michael R. Brenan, Columbia, BB&T of South Carolina.
Also, the GSSM Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of the following new board members for the 2007-2010 term: Judith M. Davis, Columbia, BlueCross BlueShield of SC; David E. Dukes, Columbia, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough; Robert M. Hitt, Spartanburg, BMW Manufacturing Company; Edwin W. Johnson II, Columbia, McNair Law Firm; Ralph Kellar, CPA, Greenville, Elliott Davis, LLC; E. Preston Rahe, Jr., Aiken, Washington Savannah River Company; Kenneth L. Smith, Greenville, Fluor Corporation; and Richard L. Stanley, Greenville, GE Energy.
The eight new Foundation board members join 27 current members from across the state.
The GSSM Foundation supports the mission of the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics by giving voice to its needs, providing supplemental funds to augment its programs and informing the public as to its accomplishments and contributions to the quality of life and economic prosperity of South Carolina. The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville is a public, residential high school for academically talented and motivated juniors and seniors.
