In 2018, more than 3,200 participants enrolled in fatherhood programs designed to help them be responsible dads. These same programs positively impacted the lives of 7,374 children in SC.
The SC Center for Fathers and Families (SCCFF) released these numbers and other outcomes in a press conference at the SC State House.
Board Chair Tim Arnold, president and CEO of Colonial Life, and Board Member Frank Martin, head coach of USC Men’s Basketball joined SCCFF President Pat Littlejohn to share significant outcomes and accomplishments and address the importance of fatherhood programs that help men become engaged and supportive dads for their children.
SCCFF is a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System. Through public and private partnerships and generous community support, SCCFF has expanded access to services from 11 counties in 2010 to all 46 counties in 2018 through its statewide network of local fatherhood organizations. The fatherhood curriculum focuses on parenting and co-parenting, healthy relationships, job readiness, economic stability and men’s health.
It is the only father-focused service delivery model of its kind in the nation.
Programs are offered at no cost to participants. Since 2002, SCCFF has helped more than 18,000 fathers prepare to meet the material, emotional and spiritual needs of their children.
