PURE Theatre: Small Mouth Sounds

February 14, 2019

On Friday, March 8, 2019, PURE Theatre will open the third production of its 16th season: Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl. The 2016 Critics’ Pick by New York Times, New York Magazine, and Time Out New York, Small Mouth Sounds finds six runaways from city life on a silent retreat in the overwhelming quiet of the woods. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward humor, this strange and compassionate new play asks how we address life’s biggest questions when words fail us.

Featuring actors both familiar and new to PURE, the cast for Small Mouth Sounds includes Core Ensemble Members Scott Smith-Pattison, Joel Watson, Erin Wilson, and Laurens Wilson. New to PURE are Edie Allen, Sarah Callahan Black, and Chris McLernon.
