Cooper River Bridge Run partners with City of Charleston and HealthLinks Charleston to host the Charleston Health & Wellness Expo
January 14, 2019The Cooper River Bridge Run (CRBR) has once again teamed up with the City of Charleston and HealthLinks Charleston to host the Charleston Health & Wellness Expo on Tuesday, January 15th and Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 from 10am–7pm at the Charleston Gaillard Center (90 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401). This is a free two-day event to promote health and wellness to the entire Charleston community at no cost.
“The City of Charleston is thrilled to bring the third annual Health & Wellness Expo to the community. With nearly 100 vendors providing hands-on demonstrations, screenings and other educational services, this event can truly help those looking to take control of their health in 2019. Prioritizing and promoting wellness is just one of many goals and this event is one small way for us to support that,” said Paul Wieters, Wellness Coordinator for the City of Charleston.
Representatives from MUSC and other facilities will provide free programs, health services and information on a variety of topics for attendees. Some of the programs include cooking lessons and dieting demos, exercise guidance, weight management and massages. There will be health screenings for BMI and glucose, blood pressure, bone density, digestive/gastro/bariatric, sleep and anxiety, hearing, Crohn’s Disease and Cancer prevention. Plus, attendees will be able to partake in full InBody testing.
Cooper River Bridge Run Race Director Julian Smith said, “With the start of another year comes a new focus and dedication to personal health and disease prevention. The Health and Wellness Expo is the perfect resource to help educate attendees on how to achieve the highest quality of life. We’re looking forward to another great expo this year and hope to see you there.”
