Holiday-Themed Magic Show Comes to Threshold Repertory Theatre
November 15, 2018Threshold Repertory Theatre is putting a twist on the traditional holiday performance as it hosts singing illusionist Russell Anderson for “It’s a Magical Christmas.” The show runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 23 at the theatre, 84 1/2 Society St. in downtown Charleston.
“It’s a Magical Christmas” features a little singing, a little dancing and a whole lot of magic – all with a holiday theme.
Anderson has performed in The Las Vegas Legends in Concert, at America’s greatest theme parks, as co-ringmaster and singing illusionist of the Wonderland Circus tour, and he has performed on several cruise lines. Anderson also makes a cameo in the soon-to-be aired HBO series, “The Righteous Gemstones,” starring John Goodman and created by Danny McBride.
“We are delighted to welcome Russell Anderson, North America’s only singing, touring illusionist, to Threshold for the holiday season,” said Don Brandenburg, artistic director. “He will present a truly one-of-a-kind singing illusion show for the holidays. Russell combines his comedic timing, theatrical flair, grand illusions, sleight-of-hand and blend of mentalism to create a truly theatrical experience. If that isn’t enough, he sings! We hope everyone will join us to experience the ‘magic’ of Christmas.”
Performances are 7 p.m. Nov. 30, Dec. 1, Dec. 7-8, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21-22 and at 3 p.m. Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Dec. 16 and Dec. 23. Tickets are $25 each; $20 for senior/military and $15 for students/children 18 and under. Some illusions may be too scary or loud for children under 7. Purchase tickets at www.thresholdrep.org.
