Financial Commitment to Carolinas Totals $250,000

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, today announced that TD is donating an additional $150,000 to support relief efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Florence. The new donations include:

  • $100,000 to the United Way Florence Fund, supporting New Hanover, Pender and Horry counties
  • $25,000 to the Lowcountry Food Bank
  • $25,000 to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

The funds for the two food banks will be used to provide more than 3,300  Disaster Relief Boxes containing nonperishable food, bottled water and other necessities for distribution  to households in need.

To date, TD has provided a total of $250,000 for hurricane relief efforts, including a $100,000 contribution made to American Red Cross chapters in Cape Fear and Eastern South Carolina on September 14.

“We know these organizations will be a source of support for so many in the aftermath of the storm,” said Brian Monday, Regional President of TD Bank. “We are proud to support organizations that are helping our communities recover from this catastrophic storm.”

“Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the devastating rainfall and flooding from Hurricane Florence,” said David Lominack, Market President for TD Bank. “As the region begins the process of assessing the damage and recovering, we want the people of the Carolinas to know that TD is a neighbor committed to rebuilding our communities.”
