Garvin Design Group celebrates 15 years
July 6, 2018Garvin Design Group, a comprehensive planning and design services firm located in the heart of the Vista, is celebrating 15 years as a firm this week. Founded in 2003 to provide creative, client-driven design solutions through more strategic project delivery methods, the firm has distinguished itself as a master of both new construction and rehabilitation of historic buildings. Garvin Design Group has grown from its humble beginnings as a four-person team designing small-scale residential structures and additions into a 17-person team designing multimillion-dollar projects throughout South Carolina and beyond.
The firm’s president Scott Garvin set up shop at 1209 Lincoln Street in the summer of 2003 with a team of six people and a mission to design buildings that both served users’ needs and accurately reflected clients’ personalities and visions. From its inception Garvin Design Group has focused on the client experience: the team works directly with clients from the initial space analysis and programming through occupation of the building, coordinating efforts of myriad consultants and contractors to ensure that the finished building is true to the client’s vision. Commitment to the primacy of client needs has earned Garvin Design Group a bevy of loyal clients and an ever-expanding portfolio of projects. Among the firm’s high-profile projects are the USC Honors College, 701 Whaley, Olympia and Granby Mills, and Palmetto Compress Warehouse in Columbia, the Peace Center in Greenville, and Liberty by Hilton Club in Charleston.

“It’s hard to believe 15 years have passed since we first began our firm in the Vista,” Scott Garvin said. “It’s amazing how far we’ve come from those first projects. We’re blessed to continue growing our portfolio and our team and we’ve been very fortunate to have worked with so many great clients in our 15-year history. The best part is the fun that we have together – it has been a blast!”
