K&L Gates partner Erica M. Jackson appointed to the SCBIO board of directors

Erica M. Jackson, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Care partner in the Carolinas offices of global law firm K&L Gates LLP, was recently appointed to the SCBIO board of directors.

SCBIO is a statewide, not-for-profit, public/private life sciences industry association and economic development organization formed to actively promote, build, support, expand, and convene South Carolina’s life sciences industry. The organization is an official state affiliate of BIO, the US Biotechnology Innovation Organization. With an annual economic impact in South Carolina of over $11 billion, the life sciences industry has become a crucial part of the state’s economy.

Jackson joined K&L Gates last September, and divides her time between the firm’s Charleston and Research Triangle Park offices. In addition, she advises clients on health care fraud and abuse compliance and matters involving the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and similar state regulatory agencies.
