The OnePalmetto Scholarship and College Fair welcomed over 1700 attendees at Sumter High School
February 26, 2018On behalf of Pace Scholarship Academy, the OnePalmetto Scholarship and College Fair was hosted at Sumter High School on Saturday, February 24, 2018. There were 41 scholarship and community service organizations and 23 colleges represented at the fair, including: Clemson, USC, SCSU, Coastal Carolina University, and College of Charleston. This event was free and open to the public.
Over 1700 parents, high school students, college students, and graduate students combined – attended the fair. They participated in breakout sessions and had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with the attending organizations and colleges. The breakout sessions covered topics related to scholarship acquisition and college preparation such as FAFSA assistance, Financial Aid 101, and tips on writing a winning scholarship essay.
In addition to giving away multiple door prizes, to include laptops and printers, Pace Scholarship Academy awarded 6 students with $500 scholarships as the result of a scholarship essay contest that was initiated prior to the event. Congratulations to Bobbie Blake, Jewel Edwards, Chelsey Lee, Donte Mackey, Trinity Scott, and De’von Witherspoon.

Pace Scholarship Academy is pleased to provide the Ultimate Scholarship books, which provide a collection of scholarships for students looking for assistance to fund their college and graduate-school education. The High School Edition, which is specifically designed for South Carolina high school students, are for students in the 9th through 12th grade.
