SCDOT to replace the bridges over the Savannah River

July 11, 2017

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is partnering with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to replace the bridges over the Savannah River and widen the roadway to six lanes to West Martintown Road (Exit 1) along Interstate 20.

This project, as a part of SCDOT’s interstate program, will improve safety and efficiency as motorists enter South Carolina by providing additional capacity along the corridor to West Martintown Road.

Tonight, SCDOT and GDOT will host a public information open house meeting to provide the public with an opportunity to view the project, ask questions and comment on the project.

The open house meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Georgia Visitor Information Center, I-20 West at GA/SC line, Augusta, GA 30907.
