Special Olympics transforms lives through the joy of sport. It the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities: with more than 4.7 million athletes in 169 countries — and over a million volunteers.

Since 1989, Barry Coats and his team have grown participation in Special Olympics by over 1,000%. Today, there are over 25,000 athletes competing in Special Olympics in South Carolina.
