The Lowcountry Food Bank celebrates millionth meal milestone
June 19, 2017On June 20thWe Will Create the Millionth Meal in The Zucker Family Production Kitchen!
The Lowcountry Food Bank will create its one millionth meal on June 20th in The Zucker Family Production Kitchen. LCFB will celebrate the milestone leading up to the meal creation with a matching gift challenge.
The Zucker Family Production Kitchen is instrumental in a number of Lowcountry Food Bank Programs:
Meals for Children
We ensure that children throughout our community receive the meals they need to live healthy and happy lives through the Kids Café and Summer Meals programs.
Food Works Education
LCFB provides hands-on culinary experience and education to high school students at-risk of not graduating, many of which live in poverty. While in the program, the students earn credits towards graduation and receive valuable culinary skills that can be used in their future careers.
Senior Meals
We work with community partners to serve healthy meals to seniors who experience hunger.
It takes many partners to create the 900 meals that leave the Zucker Family Production Kitchen each weekday.
To help continue the work that takes place in The Zucker Family Production Kitchen, The Zucker Family has generously offered to match donations for the millionth meal!. They are challenging us to raise $50,000 before the One Millionth Meal is created on June 20th.
