Woodrow “Woody” W. Willard, Jr. of Spartanburg begins term as new Chairman of the SCDOT Commission

Woodrow “Woody” W. Willard Jr. of Spartanburg will lead his first South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission meeting on Feb. 16 in Columbia since being elected Chairman of the Commission.

Willard, representing the 4th Congressional District, is President of Willard Incorporated, a real estate appraisal, consulting and brokerage firm based in Spartanburg.

Willard has been representing the 4th Congressional District on the SCDOT Commission since 2014.

He has been the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce representative to the Spartanburg Area Transportation Policy Committee (SPATS) since 1998. He has been a member of the Spartanburg Association of Realtors since 1978. He is a South Carolina licensed real estate broker and certified general real estate appraiser.

A 1974 graduate of Wofford College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Willard received an MBA from the University of South Carolina School of Business in 1976.

The SCDOT Commission on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, unanimously elected Willard as the new Chairman of the SCDOT Commission.
