Charleston American Marketing Association receives Finance Excellence Award

CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston chapter of the American Marketing Association has been honored for its strong financial performance. The chapter received the 2014-15 Finance Excellence Award from the American Marketing Association.
Each year the American Marketing Association distributes Chapter Excellence Awards to recognize and reward AMA professional chapters’ outstanding achievements in leadership, finance, membership, programming and communication. Since 1974, the International Headquarters of the American Marketing Association accepts applications from its more than 70 chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In 2013-2014 AMA of Charleston was recognized for the Membership Special Merit Award.
Judges cited the Charleston chapter’s organization, programming efforts, membership growth and retention numbers, along with financial stability as key factors in receiving 122.50 points out of a possible 199 in the Chapter of the Year competition.
In terms of the chapter’s financial health, judges said, “Excellent job on financial reporting to the AMA Support Center. This is a sign of running your chapter like a business.”
Another judge noted, “You had a phenomenal year in terms of financial growth. Congratulations on this achievement!”
